Here in the UK lol, it is a very rare thing to happen but this one happened last night just before 1am. I remember waking up thinking someone was shaking me and heard this loud rumble but when I had woke seems it had stopped I thought I had just dreamt it, though I had a really weird feeling in me that something was real, so it took me a while to get back to sleep.
It was only this morning that I discovered it was an earthquake, and quite a strong one at magnitude of 5.2 making it the largest in 25 years and the epicentre was only 50 miles from where I live so it was felt strongly here but there had not been any damage that I had noticed.
When I arrived into work pretty much everyone had felt it, some saying they were thrown out of bed lol, aye dear and this is the second time I've felt an earthquake, the last time I was awake when it happened.
