As this story seems rather big around the world I will continue to cover it but not forgetting about myself as well lol.
Swine fever, Swine Flu (Pig Flu) what ever name you want to use for it, well it's here. Though at this moment in time 150 now (170) have died might not seem a lot but the spread is rapidly picking up with around 3000 infected and as I'm sure you have all seen in the news it has gone global and has had the 1st death outside of Mexico and of course there has been the case in Spain of a person catching this flu without visiting Mexico, here in the UK we have 8 confirmed cases and as of the 01/05/09 are awaiting to confirmation of the 1st transmission between 2 people. On the WHO Alert status we are at a level 5 just one short of that dreaded full blown pandemic, if it reaches that stage is the question, but why do I have a really strange feeling that this flu is going to end up really serious. I have a funny feeling inside that within the next few weeks at least the bigger picture will begin to unfold, the news has already confirmed there is nothing that they can do to stop the spread but are unsure how bad this could end up. Will I make my 1st accurate prediction?
But let's think of your typical flu, even that spreads pretty quickly and here we are talking of a new strain so I think we are all intelligent enough to grasp some idea of what could potentially happen. Hopefully and that's all anyone can say but hopefully it won't end up too serious. There is no point in wearing these bloomin masks though (safe as it looks) they have to be changed around every hour so unless you have a mass stockpile there pretty worthless really. I guess all we can do is follow the news guidelines and cover up when we cough/sneeze etc but even that seems pointless, most people do that anyway but it always still spreads.
Further update 20.30pm - First UK person to person confirmed
France confirms 1st case of Swine Flu
Mexico is in lockdown (why I have no idea, it's a bit too late for that now)
So whilst Pig Flu sweeps the world I will get on with my life as business as usual and work work work for the rest of this week. Thursday 30/04 as planned I went in for my 5th tattoo on my wrist, this is a celtic design. I had always planned and always said in fact that I would get 5 tattoos and it's taken a few years but I have them now. I have to say pain wise it came second as the most painful with back back one been the most painful. Bearing in mind once he stopped which I asked him to do lol once he re started after I had had a drink it was ok then and only took about 30 minutes to do, it looks really nice as well so I'm rather impressed
Thursday evening after work I met up with Russel after a month and a half if not longer of not speaking, finally decided to sort out what was an 8 year friendship so we went for a meal to T.G.I Fridays and for a few drinks afterwards and everything was fine so I'm pretty certain that things will end up back on track as normal. All good
