Last night - Sat night
As the friendship with Russel gets even further back on track we decided to go on a night out to Leeds, I had planned on Manchester for the night on Saturday but that changed. So it would instead be Leeds with Russel and Matt, there is a new night at attend, well it began last weekend so this is the 2nd event but to me the 1st lol seems I never went to the last one. The night is called Back Door Disco.
Arriving there to a small queue that still took 20 minutes to get in because the club allowed 2 to 3 people in at a time and searched everyone on the way in and I mean a proper search, I felt the security touched me up as did he seem to do so with everyone else, but setting aside the 20 min wait and been searched we got in eventually.
There was one main advantage that the club has over the majority of clubs I have been to and go to and that is the fact it was cool (as in not too hot) because I hate clubs where it's just too hot and there is no air con on, usually I leave the clubs throughout the night to cool down and get some fresh air but in the hours I were in here I never once left and in fact danced through most of the night other than when going for drinks.
The venue was ok, set in a tunnel under a train track, but it did have some odd smell, kinda like a sewer smell but I guess that's because of the location, the drinks were expensive but the music was good - just to my taste anyway so that kept me happy and we all seemed to have a good night until towards the end when we were just dancing away and suddenly we all got wet, me and Matt and a few people around us got most of it, that is the pint that came flying our way but where was the glass, that could not be seen so I can only assume someone threw the pint into the dancing crowd. Now whilst the drink on me did not bother me too much had it been water or something else but just not a pint because it really stunk on us so only made us want to go.
There was one thing I pointed out tonight to Russel and Matt and something I have noticed and talked to other people about and that is the breed of gay people arriving onto the scene these days. Back when I first joined the scene at 17 so a lovely 8 years ago the crowd of people compared to now makes a big difference. The new arrivals who keep appearing are those really annoying in your face people/ flamboyant and the kind that make you feel ashamed to be gay sometimes, what ever happened to normal. I just wish gay people would just not have to make an issue out of it, kinda like it is something different because though it is it shouldn't be. I often look around when on the scene lately and I have noticed it even more over the last year or 2 and there is such a difference in what I see now to back then, there actually the kind of people I can safely say I would not associate myself with. I mean don't get me wrong that's not at all to say this does not count to people who have been on the scene years because it does, I often see people out these days who have been on the scene when I first arrived and they are still the same but my point is the ones arriving now are just too much, eeeek. I guess times do change hey? Moan over lol - back to life I go
Oh one last thing I have added new pictures to the slide and the blog has achieved over 30000 wonderful hits - thanks to everyone visiting.
