Today is the all day and all night event for Sheffield Gay Pride 2009, I hear this is the 1st official one even though I went to Sheffield Gay Pride last year for the 1st one lol so I'm unsure how this is the 1st one other than the fact the location was different. Anyway so Pride, was it any good? well it was ok to be fair but I said I preferred last years though that was smaller and there was no booze available, this field seemed so big and spread apart from everything on offer, which was not much, a few stalls and a stage for the acts to appear and then just a very large field with people drinking.
Saying that though it was still worth going to, the weather held out for pretty much most of the day, I actually caught the sun and burnt lol, did not even think it seemed that hot. The downside of the day was the fact my filling came out lol that I only had done 6 months ago, that's me eating a free toffee that did that. The highlight of the day was the closure of the event with the performance of Scooch, I guess I should not admit that as they are a corny band lol who failed big style in the Eurovision song contest coming last, and I'm pretty sure they mimed but so do a lot of acts these days, least I got front view.
After Pride finished at 7pm myself, Andy, Blake his boyfriend Mike and Wilber all went to mine, I wanted to get changed for the night event, this years been Poptastic, the last time they had Poptastic in this location was when I was 17. We arrived here at about half 10 and actually stayed till close just after 3am. I enjoyed the night event, and the music but unfortunately not the acts there were playing other than one band called Frixion who actually did have some good songs, they release their first single this summber, one song I did like was called Blinded by Love, check them out at www.frixionmusic.com Once Poptastic had finished it was on to Xes where I stayed for an hour before finally departing home about half 4.
Next all day & all night event is Viva Climax on August 1st providing I can swap my day off as I'm working, damn.
