I shadowed my manager today and shall be doing so tomorrow in preparation for managing my team from this Friday and for the next week. I'm kinda glad it's only a week so that I can still be online for 3 weeks of the month and be taking advantage of the new bonus plan in place, which I've been told is only to the end of this month with a possibility of this been extended. so I'm trying to make this most of that especially as I'm looking to book a holiday at the end of Feb.
The management thing I'm doing all looks pretty normal, just a case of filling daily sales stats in, listening to calls, passing back feedback. Reporting these on the system they use, sorting emails. I shall also be reponsible for looking after the team, dealing with escallations where needed, etc etc just the usual manager thing.
Andrea (my manager) has sent off an email today as something new shall be starting where advisors on management progression can be passed onto some courses that should be starting soon. They were looking for names and mine with who ever elses was passed on. So I shall await and see what comes back from that if anything.
I'm also approcaing 6 months of having my contract on the 22nd of this month, which then means I could apply to become a manager, which brings me onto my grades. When I first got my contract I was placed onto a grade 3, which is pretty much what a lot of people start on. This means I do my job very well and go over and above my job role including stuff like overtime. However now that I've been floor walking and now covering a manager my grade increases to a grade 2, by all means it could drop if my performance dropped but realistically I could apply to become a manager on a grade 2. It's taken 6 months to get my grade up especially as once you get a contract you pretty much start back at the beginning as before I used to floor walk anyway but this meant bugger all once I began my contract, my slate was kinda wiped clean.
So lets see what happens after I cover my manager and the 6 months of having a contract passes
