Amsterdam

A spanner was thrown into the works on Tuesday when I noticed some fraud on my account for some pending transactions for £250, the amount I had planned to take away with me. Patrick's passport was due to arrive today as well thankfully it did but for me I had to have my account stopped and hope for the best that the fraud team could do something.

Tuesday night we stayed at Russel's as he would take us to Leeds Bradford Airport for a very early flight at 6.55am so we were up at 4am after just a few hours sleep and off to the airport we went. Security has been stepped up a bit, had to take our shoes and belts off, hmmm. Anyhow only a short flight to Amsterdam and at least the weather were nice when we arrived at 9am local time. We found the hotel ok as well if that's what you can call it but you do pay for what you get and we did go cheap so that is what we got.

After unpacking we walked around and got lost for about 4 hours seems all the streets and shops and stuff look the same. I'm sure we just kept going around in circles all the time. Mind we did go on a boat trip for an hour around all the canals and found a cafe too, there were quite a few of them so it's a little surreal on your first visit there. The weather did not stay nice though and it rained for 2 days out of the 3 we were there.

The rest of the time in Amsterdam apart from getting lost included the boat trip, a sex museum, Madam Tussuad's museum, we posed with a few statues here. Also took a look at the red light district which were quite hard to find even though we were in the spot all along. That was an unusual experience seeing women in windows with a bra and kickers on whilst people go and ask prices. We had 2 meals out and visited a few pubs with the final night going on a pub crawl that we never bought a wrist band for so pulled it off just walking with the crowd until Patrick decided he would say he had lost his band which the backfired and we left. Visited a few cafes and chilled out for quite a few hours in these. So overall then it's been a nice time and some time away from home. On the flight back on Saturday I lost all my shampoos and stuff through customs because I left them in my bag and took it on the plane rather then let it go through baggage, oh well.

Tonight then I maybe out but can't decide on this yet.
